Our first volunteer training day for the year was a great success. Ten enthusiastic individuals visited the marsh to get an up close look at what we do. Visitors spent the morning learning how to set up and roll mist nets, watching the careful extraction process, seeing how a scribe records important bird data, learning about bands and banding, and most importantly, learning to handle birds safely. Other upcoming training days are already set, so if you are interested in learning how you can help with the banding process at the marsh, please send us an email via our website www.thehilliardtonmarsh.com
Remember there are many ways to help out at the marsh! If handling birds is not for you, send us an email anyway, we can find a job for you!
